It was another Cloudland-Unaka thriller on Tuesday afternoon.

The Lady ‘Landers scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to take a 3-2 victory over Unaka in Roan Mountain in District 1-A softball action.

For the first three innings, neither team was able to get anything going offensively.

Unaka broke onto the board in the top of the fourth inning as Lillie Kiser hit a shot to second base that allowed Madison Pierce to score. Noelle Collins added a run to the scoreboard with a sacrifice fly that brought Erika Potter across the plate to give UHS a 2-0 lead.

After the Lady Rangers retired Cloudland in order on the home side of the inning, CHS returned the favor in the top of the fifth. The Lady ‘Landers were unable to capitalize on base runners in the bottom of the fifth as Unaka held a 2-0 lead.

In the top of the seventh, Unaka was unable to get the game-tying run on base to extend the game.
